Bangs or no bangs

I'm gettin bored with my current hairstyle. I made a pact with myself to grow my hair out (gonna grow it past my bra strap) this year. The last time I had very long hair was 5 years ago when I was in college, which I then did a disastrous perm, way before digital, wave perm was even created. When I was in Auckland, I snipped it all off to a shoulder length bob, and 2 years ago, I had a dramatic shorter inverted bob ala Victoria Beckham which wasn't very liked by my mother but raved about among some friends.

4 months ago i permed it when it just reached my shoulders, and now that the curls are 'relaxing' off almost to being straight when i first started off, I dread letting it down nowadays because not only its messy, it became a bit frizzy due to the perm, which happens, when you don;t take good care of your hair. It's made worst by having a habit of not combing my own hair and sleeping with damp hair, a sure sign of bad hair day the next day I wake.

Nowadays, I'm too lazy to style it so what I usually do is put it all up in a bun on top of my head. Simple, but boring.

As I was looking through a few fashion sites, I was intrigued with the bangs that they sport, and a cut which a few celebrities have been sporting (Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Ann Hathaway, Heidi Klum). Am thinking of getting bangs ( I currently have long side sweep bangs), since I can't make any big major changes to my hair now.

Apparently it is a big trend in the US and UK, where people flocked to saloons to get their bangs trimmed, ever since Kate Moss started to sport this look:

One good thing about bangs is that it draws focus to someone's eyes, and people who love eye makeup or say focuses more on their eyes when they do their makeup, should consider this. I am one, and my hair is about the same length like these models and almost the same waves.

What do you think? Bangs or no bangs?

I'm quite a rash person when it comes to style and hair. I may just go home right now and snip my bangs off before my shower. I usually cut my own fringe (the horror!) which reminds me of a nightmarish story which concerns cutting my dog's hair in a home grooming session, blood, stitches and the vet. But that's a story for another day.

So should I or shouldn't I?

If all things fail, just clip it all up right? *gulp*

Comments please!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm to bang or not to bang, that is the question.

I guess u could try long side swept bangs, and see how that goes and once u get used to that then u can decide to have shorter bangs?

i think long side swept bangs would be great! though i'm trying to grow mine out after 2-3 years of having them...

do it!!!

i always believe you should experiment with different hairstyles while you still can [meaning, when you're still young and haf a full head of hair :P]

i had bangs since last year. though mantaining it is hell [gotta trim each month], it's pretty easy to style. on bad hair days, js wear a hairband or pin it up. that's wad i do.

trust me, u'll get a LOT of attention with bangs. ppl tend to look at you more. dunno why...
