Cafe Americaine

I love contests although I don't have much luck in winning them. The last time when I did win something was 8 years ago, and the prize was a box filled with shampoos, conditioners and potato chips.

And I don't even eat potato chips.

So when Tongue In Chic and Urbanscapes came up with this brilliant idea of posting your best put together look, I decided to push my luck. More so because the prizes are shopping vouchers and a kitschy tee.

And I love shopping vouchers and kitschy tees.

Im not sure how many sets that you can submit, but I'm gonna leave my competitiveness at the door (for like 5 minutes) and submit this first:

Wish me luck, I might just share my potato chips with you.

Damn I forgot what's that movie called. You know the one with the dancing penguin?

This little fella decided to drop by last week and never went home. It came in a box filled with goodies. This fella has his own style I'd say. He had rings hanging from his claws/fingers. Silly me thought that them were finger nails! There were pinned on his claws/fingers, quite painful I might guessed. Then I found out that they were gifts for me!Tee hee. How cute. Now he occupies a permanent spot on my little bed right beside 4 other elephants. I think he fits quite in since he does a happy dance every night before he sleeps.

Thank you J. You made me smile.

Foot fetish

I was never really a shoes person. I'm more of a bag lady. If I had my way I'd be living in flip flops the whole time. Wait..I do live in flip flops all the time. I think I've never gone by a day without walking in those damn comfy rubber. And to think I am allergic to *ahem* certain types of rubber.

Before I start a japanese slipper revolution, I have to admit that shoes really do make or break an outfit. It's part and parcel of a whole outfit, and it could even be the main focus of one's look sometimes. Take for example a simple basic dress. It could be a formal shift, a flirty floral or even a jersey Tshirt dress. Pair it with sneakers for a sporty laid back look; or with strappy gladiator sandles for instant style points. You can pair it with a black satin peep toe too and take the outfit into a whole new level of chic-ness.

Ok I think you probably get the idea. Actually my point for this post is just to show off my new pair of gladiator inspired heels, a belated birthday present from my sis from MOD shoes.

I decided to take chances and wore this last Thursday with my short printed t-shirt dress, grey leggings and black blazer.

It's actually my pair of black mary janes worn with knee high socks which I folded over the pump to create an ankle boot lookalike.

Yes I am crazy.
