Every body is ugly

My current muse at the moment.

Lulu

This girl bawled me away with her sense of style and smart fashion choices.

I wish I could dress like her.

Reasons why Bangkok is heaven on earth

  • Cheap shopping
  • Good food
  • Cheap shopping
  • Friendly locals
  • Cheap shopping
  • Hot men
  • Covenient & cheap transportation
  • Hot men
  • Hot men
  • Hot men
  • Hot men
  • Cheap shopping

Needless to point out to you my highlights of the trip, as you pretty much could sum up what they are from above.

My pilgrimmage back to this land of almost everything hot (read: Fashion, Food, Weather, Men) is slightly different from the last one exactly 12 months ago, but nonetheless fun, if not more fun. All 3 of us, with the exclusion of B, were broke on the last day of being there, after coverting what ever currencies we have folded and tucked secretly in the compartments of our very empty purses, which we remind ourselves mentally that it is only for emergency. Well, to be fair, we did have emergencies. Shopping and fashion related ones of course.

This year the damage on my bank acocunt was more massive than last year. The reapings were some what greater I think. I snagged 3 vintage dresses, 2 vintage belts, 1 much lusted for designer handbag, 1 vintage evening clutch/sling bag, 3 pairs of shoes, 3 long dresses, 1 t-shirt dress, 1 hot pink dress, 1 vintage plaid shirt, 2 casual plaid shirts, 2 work wear blouses, couple of bangles, 4 different coloured tights/leggings, 3 House/bossa nova/chill CDs, couple of necklaces and plenty of other sourvenirs for family, the 5 monsters and close friends.

*huff*

Depending on my lazy mood, I'll see if I could take some pics for evidence tomorrow.

.

.

Talking about hot men, I'm not sure if its the water in Thailand, but that place sure breeds them full. Of course most of them swing the other way round, it's still a pretty sight to behold each time we trot around in the city.

Btw, speaking of this topic, it's a confirmed fact that gay men are hot. Like REALLY hot. J and I were completely astounded when we accompanied N to DJ Station a hot gay spot in Sala Daeng. The place was filled to the brim with HOT HOT HOT men. And the best part is there were only two of us girls there. Our eyes had a yummy feast fest. All of them were so so friendly, smiling, hugging, dancing with us. We fit right in! Well,eEither that, or the drag queens in us have arrived home.

Pictures up real soon.

5D4N

Well technically its 3 and a half nights since we will catching the 7 plus AM flight back home on Monday, which means we are either pulling an all nighter, or have short naps only to wake up at ungodly hours to catch a cab to the airport. Reason for this is because I am a cheapskate who is trying to stretch her pathetic RM on a budget airline promotion. Curse me, my travel mates, all 3 of you.

I'm bailing country to make my yearly pilgrimmage to sin city. Days of reading drawing like scrawlings on foreign menu would be fun.

I can't wait!

Sitting here blogging with half a window popped up (my big boss is up here, I have to risk getting my ass whipped for blogging at work, which I do on a daily basis anyway), I am literally counting my hours. Just hope we don't have that obligatory company dinner tonight. Argh.

+_+

Blog more when I return.

Much xoxo

Big Banged.

What do you do on a boring Saturday night when you don't feel like going out to party?

I picked up my snippers and trimmed away.

When the sky is dark and the clouds are grey

Wear a scarf to keep your neck warm.

Photobucket

But can it keep your heart warm too?

Photobucket

My current state of hair is pretty disappointing not to mention unhealthy. I'm too embarrased to let it hang all out liek I used to because it looks more like the dried bushes in the Australian outback.

Photobucket

I kept my hair some what tame in a loose braid.

Photobucket

Which didn't kept to its good behaviour for long, when I kept tuckin the fly aways from all sides when I tuck into chee cheong fun with B & M over brunch.

Bang-ing?

I'm still contemplating on cutting my fringe. Thinking of waiting till i get back from my other home in a country up north, as I'm considering getting hair extensions. Realy long ones. At the rate my hair is growing and my impatience growing, extensions are my other option. Anyone done it before over here or in Bangkok?

On the topic of bangs, I'm getting inspired everyday to go home and snip it off myself. From the Facehunter & Sartorialist:

Chelle from Bamboo Stereo too had her bangs snipped off. She did it herself and I thought she looked really cute!

Another inspiration I must say.

On the same note, according to Chelle, it's a big thing in Singapore & Australia. I heard news that even Auckland chicks are sporting the same bangs. I'm sure the trend is catching or have already catch on elsewhere.

Hm..maybe I should go home and do it tonight. Better go sharpen my kitchen scissors.

Little Black Book

Though not exactly all black, it's more black and white geometrical design mini book with a red strap to hold the pages in, this handy stationery doesn't hold any numbers for me to call when I am feeling lonely.
Photobucket
Instead, it's a whole collection (plus some junk I scribble between pages, you know things like grocery list, shopping list, which friend owes me what and my supposedly diet meal plan) of rough scams of fashion inspiration I get.

Photobucket
I love reading blogs, and especially fashion blogs (WWW, Sartorialist, Face Hunter, Stylebytes, VintageJane, Kyurii), or even celeb gossip blogs and the occasional magazines, and I get inspired to create a look based on what I see.

And when I do, I whip out my litte black book, scribble and scam out outfits based on what I have in my closet to create a look.

Photobucket

It works really well especially on days when I am running late for work (which is most of the time) and when I really have nothing to wear.

It's also a good motivation for me to shop for new things. Trust me, the list is really long currently.

Paradox

Something clicked in my head, and i started feeling dizzy and light headed and very craving for ice cream when R messaged me on MSN telling me she walked over to McDees to get a McFlurry to cure her cravings for something sweet, sticky and creamy. My body went through a shock which I think caused by a dip in my sugar level (psychologically) and I knew I needed ice cream.

It doesn't help when both of us are expecting that time of the month to arrive.

So quickly I messaged her and said that I will go down to get some myself.

On the way out, I was stopped by a girl who asked me to fill in a survey for some new insurance plan. Thinking it was harmless and she sure looked like she needed some help, so I sat down while she painstakingly asked me questions while my head is projecting images of an ice cream cone dipped in hot melting chocolate.

Little did I know that harmless survey led me to buying their policy. Well, I needed one anyway since I'm not getting any younger.

I just didn't think that I'd be buying health insurance when all I wanted was to go down and buy calorie and sugar laden junk food to block my arteries with.

Duncha think it's so paradoxical?

Oh by the way, I did have that ice cream cone after the insurance. Thought it won't do me harm since *touch wood* I am covered in case anything do happens to me.

The weekends at a glance

The fact that it is a Tuesday and I am just blogging about my weekends proves that either I received some real shit from my boss because 'someone' who embodies the epitome of AUNTYBITCHINESS have been poking my poor now bleeding back, or I have a sure sign of laziness flowing through my veins.

I hit bingo on the two above mentioned, but I'll leave the bloodshed story for another day.

On the topic of weekend things, I didn't do much except for a rather laid back exercise session which ended with quite a healthy dinner of salmon fettucine, roast stuffed peppers, and a huge salad shared with N, A, & the long time no see F. All this done on a happy Friday night in Curve.

We had some serious gossiping, which yes, proves that a table of 3 men and 1 woman (I consider myself quite masculine at times actually) can do that, even way better than the folks who wear dresses and skirts could.

We got to the topic of gays after my much complained theory that all good men are either taken, dead, or just gay. The best quote I heard, and possibly the funniest and most ironic truth is when one of them said:

"I am gay, but I am homophobic sometimes"

Which totally cracked me up, spilling my bottomless watered down ice lemon tea on to my plaid vest.

>_<

Freakin ironic but damn true.

LOL.
.
.

Sauntering aside, I am due to make my yearly pilgrimage to the land of hot weather and equally hot trannies in 9 Days!!

I can't wait. wheee..

I'll be flying out first & alone that day. *slaps forehead*

That though, I am not excited. Not on a budget airline.

Spring Looks 2008 - The Pink in Ethnicity

After much researching on 2008 Spring Looks, these are the looks which are currently in fashion now.

1) Shocking Pink.
- A look that alot of celebrities are wearing. Look up Gwyneth Palthrow in a recent Cancer Foundation event and the trendsetter Sarah Jessica Parker. (sorry no pics as I am suffering from laziness)

This look is suitable for cocktail events or for the more daring ones, to the office (you can always throw on a blazer - oversized is much welcomed, or a cardigan). Some may have an issue with wearing bright neon pink all over especially if you have a darker tone of skin, so I suggest incorporating pieces which are in pink e.g. a bright pink skinny belt over a LBD, pink pumps etc. If you're going for all pink, make sure teh rest of your outfit is kept plain and basic, like what I have done here with white & silver. There is nothing worst to be caught in an outfit suitable for walking sign boards, like NEON ones, well of course unless your Agyness Deyn.

2) Ethnic prints

The second fashion trend is ethnic prints. This can be in Aztec prints, Mexican inspired, or even Batik! I have created two looks, one for the rock chick in you, pairing a very must have (I am dying for this jacket even though I live in a country where the sun bakes people everyday) and striped tank. There is nothing wrong with mixing differen patterns as long as you keep the colours of the rest of the outfit clean and basic. The other look can take you from a shopping to even a more casual event. Worn high waisted ( I suggest a braided brown belt cinched at the waist) with a blank sleeveless tee and gladiator shoes (OMG..I love this!) Again, accessories simple but with a touch of earthy, ethnic, safari inspired elements.

*More trends and looks next week. Gotta run off to have dinner with Nthe gym bunny soon. But not after what I foresee a torturing workout though. Gak.

Bangs or no bangs

I'm gettin bored with my current hairstyle. I made a pact with myself to grow my hair out (gonna grow it past my bra strap) this year. The last time I had very long hair was 5 years ago when I was in college, which I then did a disastrous perm, way before digital, wave perm was even created. When I was in Auckland, I snipped it all off to a shoulder length bob, and 2 years ago, I had a dramatic shorter inverted bob ala Victoria Beckham which wasn't very liked by my mother but raved about among some friends.

4 months ago i permed it when it just reached my shoulders, and now that the curls are 'relaxing' off almost to being straight when i first started off, I dread letting it down nowadays because not only its messy, it became a bit frizzy due to the perm, which happens, when you don;t take good care of your hair. It's made worst by having a habit of not combing my own hair and sleeping with damp hair, a sure sign of bad hair day the next day I wake.

Nowadays, I'm too lazy to style it so what I usually do is put it all up in a bun on top of my head. Simple, but boring.

As I was looking through a few fashion sites, I was intrigued with the bangs that they sport, and a cut which a few celebrities have been sporting (Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Ann Hathaway, Heidi Klum). Am thinking of getting bangs ( I currently have long side sweep bangs), since I can't make any big major changes to my hair now.

Apparently it is a big trend in the US and UK, where people flocked to saloons to get their bangs trimmed, ever since Kate Moss started to sport this look:

Photobucket

One good thing about bangs is that it draws focus to someone's eyes, and people who love eye makeup or say focuses more on their eyes when they do their makeup, should consider this. I am one, and my hair is about the same length like these models and almost the same waves.

What do you think? Bangs or no bangs?

I'm quite a rash person when it comes to style and hair. I may just go home right now and snip my bangs off before my shower. I usually cut my own fringe (the horror!) which reminds me of a nightmarish story which concerns cutting my dog's hair in a home grooming session, blood, stitches and the vet. But that's a story for another day.

So should I or shouldn't I?

If all things fail, just clip it all up right? *gulp*

Comments please!

April 10, 2008

Aim it at my head.

I have been slacking off this past two weeks at work. This is because I don't have someone breathing down my neck in the office and thus I have a freedom pass to do anything, which really ironically is nothing.

Funny how contagious laziness can be, as the one that I felt during work affected my blogging interest, my motivation to work out in gym and even bathing my 5 dogs.

Funny however that didn't stop me from watching clips of Margaret Cho talk about gays and her K0rean mother, finish episode 7 of ANTM Cycle 10, drive out to meet A over a bowl of delish pan mee and shopping in the golden river till 4pm, during working hours.

But my days of frolicking in sheer laziness and procrastination will come to an end real quick, and that is why I bought this pistol and bullets which I am wearing around my neck now so I can pull the trigger on myself when that happens.
